All 9 Paintings from 'Living in the Body'

Here (finally) are photos of all 9 paintings I am exhibiting in 'Living in the Body'. Forgive the quality of some of the images, please, they were just taken while hanging on the gallery wall and in passing- proper edited versions will be put on the website soon. This at least gives the scope of the work. Listed below the peices are the titles and sizes in inches.
'Living in the Body: Milk and Honey' 49"x71"
'You've got roots, cannot be torn from under
Won't you shake it like you've never done before' 36"x72"
(F. Ford/Be Good Tanyas)
'Three little birds were on my doorstep
singing sweet songs, a melody pure and true,
this is my message to you...' 82"x59"
(B. Marley)

'She is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come' 50"x72"

'Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering,
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in' 32"x53"
(L. Cohen)

'Curiosity far greater than the fear
It felt so simple, so prodigious at the same time
Incredible things are happening in the world
Magical things are happening in the world' 60"x48"
(Stereolab/Iron and Wine)

'And you took to me like a gull takes to the wind' 54"x36"
(Shins)

'It's a Human Thing (it's a girl?? it's a girl!!) 48"x36"
(Be Good Tanyas)

'The Delivery (oh my baby! oh, my baby!!) 36x48

Hanging the Show

Here are some photos from the day we hung the show

Paintings being brought in and stacked up before sorting it all out
Two very relieved and happy artists that it all fit

A glimpse of the gallery hung with paintings, before the work was done. What a great space, eh? Gallery 1313 was the perfect location for the show with a big area for our big paintings. All the peices fit perfectly. It was like they were born there ;)

More Press for 'Living in the Body'

The exhibit and my work has gotten a lot of press, especially on the internet! Many thanks to 'Peaceful Parenting' for the following blogpost, which in turn spurned other posts and links. It's a great feature of my work and it encourages local blogfollowers to check out the show- thank you!
Peaceful Parenting post- 'Toronto Art Exhibit...'

Related are a couple of other blogs mentioning the show;
The Joy of This is a lovely blog, and she also displays some of the older 'Birth Project' paintings

Another great blog my work:
Wild as Weeds

Jennifer Posti was also reviewed by Toronto art critic Peter Goddard in the Toronto Star, as
'this week's entertainment picks'. Way to go Jen! Jen's show 'Stay at Home' is running at Gallery 1313 while 'Living in the Body' is running.

Commissions:
I've had lots of inquiries on whether I accept commissions. I do welcome commissions; birth, pregnancy or otherwise. Please contact me to discuss your request at rose_arc@hotmail.com
For reference, I work life-size, and the rate is approx $125/square foot.

Prints:
I'm unsure yet whether I will make prints. I would rather focus my energy on painting and selling original work. In some ways I feel making prints diminishes the value of the painting. However, I realize purchasing a large painting is not in everyone's budget, so I may consider doing a limited number of prints of certain peices in the future.
